There is a new record waiting to be hit by the team India captain Virat Kohli. There is a chance for this in the upcoming test series with SriLanka. Ganguly is one of the most successful captains in the history of Indian cricket team, now Kohli may rewrite this record in this series.
Two to go
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket team. Dhoni captained the Indian cricket team in 60 tests and won 27 of them. Ganguly captained for 49 tests and won 21 of them. Now the present captain Virat Kohli lead the Indian cricket team in 29 tests and won 19 of them, that means if Indian cricket team wins two matches in the upcoming series then Kohli is going to equal dada’s record. If the test series with SriLanka is a clean sweep for the Indian cricket team then Kohli will surpass Ganguly’s record.
It is possible
Kohli’s team is in a good shape and performing well in all Batting, bowling, fielding, and fitness. Recently the Indian cricket team had won a 5 test series against and in SriLanka(away), now it’s even easier because it is India(home). The Indian cricket team is in an amazing form in their home this year so it is not a big issue to clean sweep the series with SriLanka. The Indian cricket team won 8 test series in a row this year. They won against South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Australia, and Srilanka(twice) this year. If this form is continued then it’s not a big deal for Kohli’s army.
A little test
SriLankan cricket team may be motivated to take revenge by giving a tough fight in the series. They have also won their previous series against Pakistan so their morale levels may be a bit high and it may be a good series to watch.
