Blue Whale – A Dangerous Game:
A former psychology student from Russia who was expelled from his university named Philipp Budeikin is rumored to have started this game. His aim was to cleanse society by pushing people to commit suicide those he deemed as having ‘no-value’.
The game consists of a series of tasks assigned to the player over a 50-day period with the final task requiring the player to commit suicide. These tasks start off easy such as listening to a particular genre of music, waking up at odd hours, watching a horror movie, and then gradually increasing the difficulty of the task with two of the final tasks being self-mutilating the player’s hand and eventually committing suicide.
It works on a relationship basis between the administrators and the players. A depressed and lonely individual , especially teenage girls going through a phase are kind of people with the correct psychological profile to complete the 50 day challenge.
Eventually the Russian police caught up to the game and arrested Budeikin who pleaded guilty to the charges but the game is already on the Internet. New administrators, who like torturing and killing people took the responsibility to hide their identities and keep the game running even to this day.
